LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."
As I began to pray and think about what to put in this month’s newsletter the Lord led me to these verses. We have read them many times but in this time of turmoil in our country we need to get back to the basics. It is time to forget about denominations, whether we are Pentecostal, Methodist, Baptist, or non-denominational we all to love God with all our hearts and love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Jesus said there is no other commandment greater than these two. Who is your neighbor? The family across the street, the one who lives beside you, I believe it is anyone you encounter. Like the good Samaritan, He did not care about his views or the views of the man in need, he just loved him as he loved himself. All of us talk a good game on Facebook but we need to stop talking and act on loving our neighbor. But the first commandment is to love God with all our heart and soul, that means to love Him from our inner most being. To love Him from our heart, not just with our words. We all want revival and we know it does not start with an evangelist, it starts in our hearts, it starts with us. Let this summer be a summer of loving our neighbor; our nation needs Jesus and we can be His hands and feet. Are you willing to put your feelings aside and just simply love your neighbor as the good Samaritan did?
